FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to intermediate stages in synthesis of adipic acid that is one of components in synthesis of polyamide. Invention proposes the reaction of oxycarbonylation with carbon monoxide in the presence of water at temperature 90-200 C, under partial pressure of carbon monoxide 2-200 bars measured at 25 C in the presence of iridium catalyst and iodine or bromine promoter in medium of solvent in the molar ratio of iodine or bromine/iridium between 1/1 and 10/1 and in the mass concentration of water in reaction mixture between 0.01% and 5%.
