FIELD: thermal engineering; thermal power stations and boiler installations. SUBSTANCE: process involves heating source water followed by its decarbonization by conveying water under treatment and atmospheric air into decarbonizer wherein they are brought in contact. Desired concentration of carbon dioxide in decarbonized water is maintained by sequential control of air flow from decarbonizer and of water temperature; in case of increase in residual concentration of carbon dioxide relative to desired value air flow is first increased within capacity of fan, then water temperature is raised, if necessary. On the contrary, with decrease in carbon concentration relative to desired value water temperature is first reduced, then air flow is brought down. Proposed process provides for maintaining optimal air flow for decarbonization and source water temperature due to their sequential control. EFFECT: improved economic efficiency and quality of makeup water obtained. 1 dwg
