FIELD: food industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to foodstuffs preserving agents and can be used as an antibacterial preserving agent. Preserving agent is a silver aqueous solution made by electrolytic method. Preserving agent is the chemically pure solution of silver ions in distillate with acid medium reaction. Active ions in solution have no anti-ions and they are bound with water dipole molecules by coordination linkage. Preserving agent shows high antibacterial activity at concentration of Ag+ ions 0.001 mg/l and above that is significantly lower of admissible sanitary norms. Agent is stable at storage, provides the precise silver dosage in product to be preserved. Agent can be prepared as a concentrate with the following dilution. EFFECT: improved quality and properties of agent. 2 cl, 1 tbl
