FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves mercerizing knitted fabric with sodium hydroxide solution, with following primary squeezing, washing and secondary squeezing. Solution is prepared from 200-220 g/l of sodium hydroxide which is used for mercerizing cotton-polyester fabric at temperature of solution ranging between 25-90 C. Fabric is held in mercerizing chamber for at least 60 s. Method is used for manufacture of knitted fabric and coupons made in circular machine from cotton yarn mixed with yarn having chemical filament. Method allows quality of mercerization to be increased without necessity for reducing working temperature. EFFECT: improved quality of finished knitted fabric and reduced production cost. 4 cl, 1 ex
