FIELD: technology of manufacturing membranes for micro- and ultra-filtration. SUBSTANCE: filter element consists of macroporous base and microporous membrane made from inorganic fibers. Method of filter element manufacture includes dispersion of inorganic fibers in aqueous medium, their precipitation on macroporous base and subsequent drying. Inorganic fibers are used with their length to diameter ratio exceeding 100 and not more 500. Dispersion of inorganic fibers is carried out at pH of 10.5-11.5. Inorganic fibers in filter element are joined together by their mutual interweaving, and binding of macroporous base and microporous membrane is ensured by penetration of fiber ends into pores of base. EFFECT: higher productivity and improved technology of filter element manufacture. 5 cl, 2 dwg, 7 ex
