SUBSTANCE: method includes blowing into furnace hearth of gas mixture consisting of natural gas and coolant-oxidizer in the form of steam or carbon dioxide to reduce consumption of natural gas with simultaneous compensation of this amount of natural gas with steam in volume ratio of 1:1.5 with limits of gas mixture components, vol.%: natural gas, 18-88; steam, 12-82. As a version, introduced into natural gas instead of steam is carbon dioxide gas in volume ratio of 1:1.25, with limits of gas mixture components, vol.%: gas, 21-90; carbon dioxide, 10-79.
