GAUGE-PRESSURE VALVE Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: gauge-pressure valve is designed for automatic maintenance of constant preset pressure (overpressure) in room or construction. It ensures air overflow from one room to another in one direction only. It may also be used for emergency shut-off of gas pipeline channel in case of abrupt pressure rise exceeding some threshold value in working space or beyond it. Valve has body with coaxial operating branch pipes and through channel in which cut-off member loaded elastically towards branch pipes is mounted for longitudinal displacement. Cut-off member consists of hollow cylinder coaxial with body, with internal partition and blind ends which diameter is larger than that of through channel. Adjusting element pressed to partition elastically is secured loosely on supporting guide element inside cylinder. Guide element is attached to cylinder ends. Through recesses are made near ends on side surface of cylinder. Gauge-pressure valve makes it possible to shut off gas pipeline and to stop gas flow for some minimum permissible time due to action of shock wave and compression wave with gauge pressure and duration exceeding some threshold value on gas flowing through gas pipeline.
