FIELD: microbiology. SUBSTANCE: method of isolation of microalgae axenic cultures is carried out by plating microalga suspension on surface of solid nutrient medium, incubation for 24 h followed by replanting of grown single microcolonies with pieces of solid nutrient medium on sterile elective liquid nutrient media. Replanting of microalgae suspension is carried out by its rubbing in by glass spatula into the surface of 1.5-% agarized Prat's nutrient medium where merthiolate an aqueous solution is added preliminary to its concentration in nutrient medium 2 x 10-6 g/ml. Method ensures to decrease time of isolation of pure cultures, enhance effectiveness of their isolation and safety of obtaining required species of microalgae pure cultures. Also, method shows the broad sphere of using since it ensures to obtain axenic cultures of microalgae independently of the source of isolation and degree of their bacterial seeding. Invention can be used for isolation of axenic cultures of microalgae in carrying out physiological, biochemical, cytological and genetic research of microscopic algae.
