FIELD: microbiology, biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves growing microorganism culture to be analyzed on liquid nutrient medium, separation of bacterial cells from supernatant, preparing bacterial cell suspension, its treatment with chloroform and separation of cellular extracts by centrifugation. Staphylococcus aureus GISK N 201108 as the test-culture is added to control and experimental samples, incubated, cells of test-culture are separated by centrifugation and bacterial suspension is prepared from cells obtained. Determination of catalase activity of test- culture in experimental and control samples and calculation of inhibition degree of catalase activity in test-culture are carried out by the formula followed by conclusion about the presence or absence of bacterial inhibitors of catalase in cultures to be analyzed. The proposed method ensures to detect and investigate the novel property of microorganisms, i. e. the ability to inhibit bacterial catalase activity. Invention can be used in scientific investigations and practical work of bacteriological laboratories of clinics where indices of microorganisms taking important role in formation of normal microbiocenosis in human body are assayed.
