FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: metal carriers containing fine-grained fraction and at least partially reduced, and carbon carriers are supplied to melting-gasifying apparatus above level of melting gasifying zone through which they pass with formation of metal melt, particularly, with formation of melt of pig iron. In this case, reducing gas is formed due to coal gasification. Carbon and metal carriers are introduced into melting-gasifying apparatus onto center above melting-gasifying zone, preferably, by gravitation by forming central jet of metal carriers surrounded with shell jet formed by carbon carriers to prevent partial carrying away of metal carriers from melting-gasifying apparatus during their charging, and to ensure uniform distribution of carbon and metal carriers. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 5 dwg
