FIELD: methods of making pig iron. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in direct fluidized-bed reduction into sponge iron at two reduction stags as minimum followed by melting in melting and gasifying zone at delivery of carbon carriers and oxygen-containing gas and at simultaneous production of reducing gas containing CO and H2, used in reducing zones. Iron ore is fractionated into two fractions as minimum at first reducing stage by means of reducing gas; fractions have grains of different sizes; each fraction is reduced in separate fluidized bed by maintaining the bed containing coarse- dispersed fraction at separation of finely-dispersed fraction. Reduced iron ore is removed from first and subsequent fluidized bed and is subjected to further reduction at next reducing stage working similarly as first stage. Finely- dispersed fraction from last reducing stage is introduced into melting gasifying zone at simultaneous forming of sinter cakes at delivery of oxygen through burner (preferably) and coarse-dispersed fraction is delivered directly to melting and gasifying zone by gravity. EFFECT: possibility of obtaining homogeneity of reduction of iron ore at optimal usage of reducing gas. 12 cl, 4 dwg
