FIELD: mechanical engineering; exhaust system of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: gas flow automatic distributor is introduced into design of catalyst converter. Automatic distributor consists of connecting branch pipe and spring which presses connecting branch pipe to first reactor. First reactor, in its turn, communicates through connecting branch pipe with outlet branch pipe. Partition placed between connecting branch pipe and outlet branch pipe provides free passage of gas flow without creating counter-pressure to exhaust gas flow exceeding nominal one when engine is idling or operates at partial loads. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of gas cleaning, cut down fuel consumption, simplified design of converter, increased service life of converter owing to automatic distribution of gas flow. 2 dwg
