FIELD: metallurgy, more specifically, production of ferroalloys, particularly, production of vanadium-containing ferroalloys including ferrovanadium. SUBSTANCE: method involves supply of periclase onto main charge before smelting in amount of 0.05-0.15 of vanadium pentoxide content; smelting of charge with periclase and then mixture of lime, aluminum and steel additive in amount of 0.05-0.20 of content of vanadium pentoxide in charge is supplied to melt. Ratio of said components in mixture is preset within 1:(0.1-0.15):(0.03-0.06). Periclase reduces heat losses, preserves high temperature of slag melt for precipitation of metal inclusions and reduces outbursts and splashes of melt.
