METHOD OF OIL POOL RESERVES DETERMINATION Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: oil producing industry; applicable in determination of oil reserves of deposits of strip structures of channel type. SUBSTANCE: method includes determination on strip-like pool of vector of its orientation. Location of wells are projected onto normal to vector and distances between their projections are determined. Hydrodynamic research of three wells not located in pair on direction along orientation vector is carried out. Wells are researched under conditions excluding their interference. In the course of researches, dependence of pressure restoration value in time is continuously determined and graph of this dependence is constructed. Determined by graph is coming of pressure restoration curve to three rectilinear asymptotic sections. Moments of coming to wells under research of pressure disturbances reflected from pool boundaries are measured and on their basis, relative distances from each well to the nearest pool boundary are found. Wells are ranked by their relative distances to pool boundaries. Two possible positions of location of pool boundaries corresponding to well ranking are found, and one of them is selected by manipulation into identity of one of two determined equations. Pool width, its axial line, and boundaries are determined and then pool oil reserves are calculated. Relative distances of wells to pool boundaries are determined by special formula. EFFECT: higher accuracy of determination of pool oil reserves and more exact definition of prospects of drilling out of new districts of pool. 3 dwg, 1 tbl
