METHOD FOR DEVELOPMENT OF WATER-FLOATING OIL DEPOSIT Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: oil production industry. SUBSTANCE: according to method, recovery of oil and water is effected through different producing horizontal wells. Determined in bed of water-floating deposit is position of water-oil contact and thickness of water and oil zones of bed. Driven in zone of bed of minimal thickness is first horizontal well which is parallel to surface of water-oil contact. Driven is second horizontal well in zone of larger thickness to be parallel to first well and of length being equal to length of first well. Axis of well is located in common vertical line with axis of first well. Beginning and end of horizontal section are located in common vertical lines with beginning and end of horizontal section of first well. Positioning of wells is determined from condition of coinciding of boundary of separation of well feed areas and water-oil contact. Position of second horizontal well is determined according to formula given in description of invention. Undertaken is recovery of liquids from first and second wells with outputs determined by condition of remaining location of water-oil contact. Application of aforesaid method prolongs waterless period of oil extraction together with increased output from deposit. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
