FIELD: reworking and utilization of domestic and/or industrial wastes including carbon-containing materials. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes exposing of coal seam by well, forming cavity of underground gas generator followed by gasifying of carbon-containing fraction of wastes in underground gas generator; cavity of underground gas generator is formed by means of hydraulic giant unit; lateral walls and roof of cavity are made in form of natural equilibrium vault within design dimensions, after which hydraulic getting of coal is discontinued, water is discharged and thermal preparation of coal block for gasifying is performed; to this end, gas at temperature of 350 to 400 C is fed to cavity and then cavity of gas generator is charge with carbon-containing fraction of domestic waste which are subjected to pyrolysis at temperature of 500 to 600 C prior to admitting them to underground gas generator; gas mixture containing CO2, and O2 id fed to gas generator charge with wastes; besides that, upon attaining steady-state mode, water vapor is introduced into blast; upon completion of degassing of first portion of wastes, gas generator cavity is filled with next portion and so one till it gets filled with ash residue. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of underground gas generator as plant for utilization of solid domestic wastes and possibility of using part of coal in natural form. 3 cl, 1 dwg
