FIELD: coal, gold extracting, construction and other branches of industry. SUBSTANCE: furnace has carbonizing reactor made in the form of slit-shaped chamber with product charging and discharge units, heat-carrier supplying device having rectangular gas conduits and gaseous pyrolysis product discharge device, heat recuperator, and combustion chamber. Gas conduits communicate combustion chamber with heat recuperator. Pyrolysis product discharge device is made in the form of metal pipe for connecting carbonizing reactor with combustion chamber. Furnace is further provided with water and carbon dioxide charging branch pipes allowing activation process to be performed. Furnace of such construction allows power consumption to be reduced by 35-45% during production of active carbons by utilizing heat released in the process of combustion of pyrolysis products and due to minimized heat losses.
