METHOD FOR MANUFACTURE OF CHARGES FROM COMPOSITE SOLID PROPELLANT Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: procedure of preparation of solid propellant mass. SUBSTANCE: method consists in manufacture of charges with the use of vertical planetary-type mixers, it comprises operations of components proportioning, mixing of solid propellant mass, disconnection of the detachable body from the mixing head, connection of the body to the piston hydraulic explosion system and setting of remote filling, moulding and polymerization. The components are mixed at a low temperature (20 to 30 C) with a subsequent rise of the propellant mass before moulding up to 50 to 70 C. At its detachment from the mixing head the detachable body is lowered at a rate comparable with the rate of running- off of the propellant mass from the mixers. The piston of the hydraulic expulsion system is lowered onto the mass surface in the two-speed condition. The propellant mass is fed to the mould from the bottom with an adjustable capacity. Excessive pressure in the mould is built up and maintained at the end of moulding and at polymerization. EFFECT: enhanced quality of charges. 1 dwg
