FIELD: designs of mine shafts. SUBSTANCE: device may be used for protection against shock waves in case of explosions in mines and also in storage houses and other rooms where explosions are possible. The device includes protective members in the form of thin-walled shells with evacuated cavities and secured to mine walls. At least a part of said shells may be made in the form of columns. Shells may be spaced along length of mine shaft at interval equalling 2-5 shaft diameter. EFFECT: protection of men and equipment against shock waves. 3 cl, 3 dwg
