FIELD: transport engineering and other branches of industry. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for matching self-aligning mechanisms of transmissions of self-propelled vehicles, drives of processing machinery and machine tools. According to proposed method matching is provided by control of reactive torque arising in control member of planetary gearbox relieved from rigid coupling with housing owing to automatic matching of gear ratio between engine and load through flexible coupling with housing. Operations of proposed method are realized by automatic stepless gearbox consisting of two bevel ring gears, planet pinions and resilient element. Reactive torque building mechanism is made in form of gear of screw pair, screw gear sliding sleeve, screw wheel made to provide transmission of reactive torque to resilient element. Screw wheel is rigidly connected with ring gear transmitting control torque from engine through planet pinions of carrier to load. Other ring gear is installed on output shaft and is connected with load. Engine is connected with carrier. EFFECT: simplified design, improved reliability of operation of mechanical automatic stepless gearbox, increased efficiency and service life, reduced fuel consumption. 5 cl, 2 dwg
