FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves directing low coherence optical radiation beam in visible and proximal infrared bandwidth to the laminated system under study. The mentioned radiation bandwidth is scanned over the surface of laminated system under study with image of the laminated system under study being built by representing scattered optical radiation intensity repeatedly scattered by the laminated system under study. The so produced image is used for diagnosing disease. Zones of irregular form are revealed in each layer of the mentioned system characterized by the intensity of the repeatedly scattered optical radiation differing from the intensity of the repeatedly scattered optical radiation in adjacent zones. Relation between the intensities of the repeatedly scattered optical radiation inside and outside of the detected zone pathological zone is diagnosed.
