METHOD OF DIAGNOSING CERVICAL PATHOLOGY Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B6/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, functional diagnostics, gynecology, oncology, for estimation of state of covering tissue of cervix (C). Colposcopy of C surface and examination of its sections with atypical colposcopic signs is performed by means of optic coherent tomography (OCT) directing beam of low-coherent optic radiation of direct polarisation (DP) of visible or nearest IR-range on examined surface, its scanning and registration of OCT-image, presenting intensity of radiation, backscattered by examined surface. Simultaneously with examination of C surface sections by means of DP radiation, said sections are examined by low-coherent optic radiation of said wave range of orthogonal polarisation (OP) with angle of radiation deviation 40-50°. OCT-images are registered in DP and OP. Benign pathology of C surface is diagnosed in case of structural or structureless OCT-image in DP and OCT-image of high signal intensity in OP. Malignant pathology of C is diagnosed in case of structureless and/or low-structural OCT-image in DP and OCT-image in OP of low signal intensity and/or its absence.

EFFECT: method ensures increase of accuracy in diagnosing C pathology, which optimises indications for biopsy, reducing percentage of unjustified biopsies.
