FIELD: process of mechanical treatment of metal by cutting fro production on metal blanks of relief configured and various in depth and shape engravings, configured engravings of microscopic dimensions inclusive, applicable for milling and routing machines with software. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in cutting-in of the cutting tool with a V-shaped sharpening, formation of the image contour at reciprocating motion of the cutting tool in the transversal (relative to its axis) direction and withdrawal of the tool, cutting-in of the cutting tool and its withdrawal are accomplished by axial feed of the cutting tool, and cutting-in and formation of the image contour are carried out stage by stage by multiple repetition of the above operations, in each stage cutting-in is accomplished to a depth of 0.5 to 1.5 μm with subsequent formation of the image contour, and a round- section cutting tool with a V-shaped sharpening within 117 to 120 deg made of diamond is used.
