FIELD: production of polysulfides. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes introduction of solution containing sulfide ions which is just white alkali of pulp production into anode section of electrolytic cell; anode cell is provided with porous anode; area of surface of this anode ranges from 10 to 5000 sq.m/sw.m of effective area of diaphragm; surface is made from carbon; anode is packed in anode section till it gets in contact with diaphragm in such way that solution containing sulfide ions passes through anode and cathode sections provided with cathode and diaphragm dividing the anode and cathode sections; method includes also electrolytic oxidation for obtaining polysulfide ions. EFFECT: enhanced concentration of polysulfides at high selectivity and low electrolytic power; minimizing production of thiosulfate ions due to secondary reactions. 9 cl, 3 tbl, 10 ex
