FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method to produce polysulfides by electrolytic oxidation. The device has the electrolytic cell with the anodic chamber with a porous anode in which they introduce a solution containing sulfidic ions, the cathode chamber supplied with the cathode, separating anodic chamber and cathode chamber used for electrolytic oxidation to produce polysulfide ions . The surface of the anode of the anodic chamber is made of nickel or nickel alloy containing at least 50 mass. % of nickel. The porous anode has physically continuous three-dimensional gauze structure, and area of surface of the anode per unit of volume of the anodic chamber makes from compounds(makes) from 500 up to 20000 m2/m3.. The invention allows to produce polysulfides with high concentration of sulfidic ions in the solution, especially for production of the cooking liquor containing the high concentration of polysulfide sulphur, from a white solution of production of cellulose with high selectivity at low power electrolysis at simultaneous minimization of the collateral production of thiosulphate ions. EFFECT: the invention allows to produce polysulfides with high concentration of sulfidic ions in the solution, especially for production of the cooking liquor. 10 cl, 3 tbl, 13 ex
