FIELD: protection of metals against corrosion, particularly protection of pearlite steels by creating onto steel surface protective films and subsequently adding corrosion inhibitors to aqueous or steam medium. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of chemical treatment of steel surface until formation onto said surface oxide coating such as spinal type coating with thickness no less than 0.2 micrometers and subsequently adding anode type corrosion inhibitor to system. Inhibition may be realized in desalinized water while using as inhibitor hydroxide and nitrite.
