FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves catching and pulling papillary margin of the iris using a thread transcorneally brought through by means of atraumatic curved needle. The thread is conducted in the inferior part of the eyeball catching in series the papillary margin of the iris at 8 and 4 o'clock position and brought outside. The same operations are done in the superior zone of the eyeball catching in series the papillary margin of the iris at 10 and 2 o'clock position and paracenteses are formed in peripheral zone of the cornea at 6 and 12 o'clock position. The free ends of the inferior suture are brought out to the paracentesis at 6 o'clock position and the free ends of the superior suture are brought out at 12 o'clock position. The ends of the threads are pulled close to each other and tied. The formed iris colobomas are sutured at 6 and 12 o'clock position. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment; reduced risk of traumatic complications. 4 dwg
