Abstract RU 2170484 C2

FIELD: quantum electronics; electrically pumped frequency- periodic gas lasers for various applications. SUBSTANCE: proposed X- ray preionized laser has pressurized chamber with vacuum lead-ins and active medium, as well as with radiation output windows; auxiliary- discharge unit with cathode and main-discharge unit with shaped anode both units having common electrode; evacuating, gas-transfer, and cooling system; coherent radiation shaping and output unit; auxiliary- discharge unit has stand-alone evacuation and gas-transfer systems; it is arranged coaxially with respect to chamber and is made in the form of vacuum cavity with dielectric glass and cover in the form of common perforated electrode whose rows of holes are equally spaced apart and whose contour is similar to that of anode; cathode is made of plate shaped to follow cross-section outline of vacuum cavity with insulating layer and metal square grid on insulation surface. Introduced in auxiliary discharge unit is electron beam braking system made in the form of frame with holes and metal foil secured to its surface; cooling system is assembled of set of fans and two heat-transfer apparatuses incorporating set of vertical metal plates installed symmetrically to main- and auxiliary-discharge units. Gas-transfer system is made in the form of vessels with different active gas media; set of changeable optical members and two semi- transparent metal screens in the form of grid are introduced in coherent radiation shaping and output unit; screens are made in the form of grid and mounted along radiation path symmetrically to main-discharge unit axis. EFFECT: enlarged radiation spectrum of source both in pulsed and frequency-periodic mode of operation; enhanced output power of coherent radiation source. 1 dwg
