FIELD: electrical engineering, design of low-voltage equipment, contactors and starters. SUBSTANCE: contact bridge of electromagnetic switching device has steel trough-shaped base carrying copper plate on internal side and contact straps containing silver on external side. Characteristic feature of invention is that at least part of contact straps containing silver in contact bridge of electromagnetic switching device has variable cross-section within limits of quarter of their height on side of contact surface and one strap containing silver as minimum has bevel of contact surface. Area of horizontal projection of it is 15% or more of total area of horizontal projection of contact strap. EFFECT: enhanced mechanical and switching wear resistance and reduced usage of silver to ensure required service life and switching wear resistance. 5 cl, 7 dwg
