FIELD: electrical engineering, low-voltage equipment, design of contactors and starters. SUBSTANCE: process of manufacture of electromagnetic switching device includes manufacture of frame, core with pull-in coil, casing, shock absorbers, units of contact cross-pieces, mobile bridge contact units coming in the form of contact bridges with straps containing silver, block with immobile contact units in the form of clamps with upper and lower flanges ( upper flanges carrying straps containing silver ) and return springs, assembly, painting, marking, test and packaging of device. Arc- guiding clamp-shaped element composed of two clamps and vertical member with hole and protrusion or with two holes is made additionally per each contact clamp while manufacturing immobile contact units. Each contact clamp is brought into arc-guiding clamp-shaped element prior to assembly of device. EFFECT: manufacture of electromagnetic switching device displaying high switching wear resistance, reliable during long-term operation and requiring no complex operations while being assembled with significant acceleration of drift of arc from contact units which leads to prolonged service life of both contact units and device as whole. 24 cl, 23 dwg
