FIELD: glassmaking. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of manufacturing high-modulus liquid glass for fabrication of building materials and can be used in manufacturing insulation products: especially light filler for concretes and other products. In particular, suspension is prepared from silica- containing amorphous substance Ц microsilica, which is crystalline silicon production waste with particle size (0.01-0.1) x 10-6 m and, additionally, additive called "sulfate soap", which is intermediate product in sulfate- cellulose wood processing, in sodium hydroxide solution, ratio of solid phase to liquid phase being 1:(1.55-1.93) and sodium hydroxide (in conversion to sodium oxide) consumption ranging from 51.9 to 90.9 kg/cu.m. Suspension is subjected to hydrothermal treatment at 68-73 C and atmosphere pressure for 5-10 min. EFFECT: reduced process time and process temperature and extended range of silica modulus from 5-7 to 4-8. 3 tbl
