FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: method comprises preparing suspension from silica-containing amorphous material which is microsilica waste resulting from crystalline silicon production with particle size of (10-80)•10-6 m in alkaline sodium hydroxide at S:L ratio of 1.9 - 5.65 followed by hydrothermal treatment at pressure of 0.1 Mpa and at temperature of 110-130 C for 15-90 minutes. EFFECT: shorter process for manufacturing liquid glass and wider range of values of silicate modulus and density, and high-grade homogeneous product. 1 ex, 1 tbl
