FIELD: ammunition for smoothbore sporting guns. SUBSTANCE: the cartridge consists of a cartridge case, primer cap, buster, powder and a pyrotechnical star (illuminating, signal or smoke) installed in the wad. The wad is made of polymeric material in the form of two coaxial cylinders, having a common bottom with a central hole, 2 to 3 mm in diameter, and fastened to each other by stiffening ribs, the wad external cylinder, on the side opposite to the bottom, expands in the form of a truncated cone with V-shaped slots forming at least four tabs coming in contact in the slots at installation in the cartridge case, on the side of the bottom the external cylinder continues forming a cup, and the ratio of heights of the cylindrical and tapered sections of the external cylinder makes up 0.8 to 1.2.
