FIELD: holographic device designed for projection of pictures represented on a matrix liquid crystal screen. SUBSTANCE: the device has a plane mirror formed by alternating transparent and reflecting strips with rectilinear and mutually parallel boundaries, the first and second identical reflection holograms each producing minimum one diffracted beam of the preset spectral composition, light source for illumination of the above holograms at an angle of incidence close to the normal one by means of the mentioned mirror; the above holograms are positioned symmetrically relative to the plane of the mentioned mirror so as to be illuminated by means of the transparent and reflecting strips, respectively of the mirror, and so that the beams diffracted by the first and second holograms would be reflected and passed through by the reflecting and transparent strips respectively, mirror, so as to be combined into a continuous light beam of the above mentioned spectral composition. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of use of the light energy emitted by a lengthy source, compactness, prevented use of raster of filters, enhanced luminous efficiency. 15 cl, 3 dwg
