FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves generating signal from leading machine to dependent machine, with leading machine delivering fixed visible velocity signal and variable visible signal corresponding to position of dependent machine relative to line of symmetry of leading machine through related indicating means positioned on rear wall of leading machine shovel. On the basis of obtained visible signal of velocity of leading machine, dependent machine changes its own velocity, and on the basis of visible and variable sound signal it orients motion in direction perpendicular to main motion of leading machine. Variable visible and sound signals are generated by related devices in leading machine upon logic processing of signals emitted from contact sensors arranged inside bumper body beginning from initial coming into contact of dependent machine with bumper of leading machine and up to the moment of full contact. EFFECT: simplified controlling during approaching and joining of machines, wider operational capabilities of controlling in field conditions and reduced machine joining time. 3 cl, 7 dwg
