SUBSTANCE: method involves providing movement of leather in sequence below measuring and branding devices; periodically measuring leather width; calculating area; generating "leather end" signal to switch on transport lag; automatically determining technological branding location; moving branding device to technological branding location; setting up area value and, upon expiration of transport lag, pressing leather to branding device to effectuate branding.
