FIELD: food industry, medicine, cosmetics. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of preparing natural compounds used as a food addition and for prophylaxis of different chronic diseases. Method of licopin preparing involves thermic treatment of the parent raw at 100-125 C in the presence of agents increasing pH value to 7.2-7.5 and vegetable oil used for dehydration, destruction and conversion of released licopin to the oily phase accompanying with isomerization of its significant part to cis-conformation. Licopin is extracted with sunflower oil by hot steam and oily extract is subjected for saponification in mixture of potassium hydroxide and ethyl alcohol. Licopin is purified by water and alcohol washing out. Matured tomato waste residue remaining after tomato paste and juice preparing is used as the parent raw. Part of cis-isomers of natural licopin in obtained concentrate is estimated to be about 60%. EFFECT: improved method of preparing, simplified method, decreased cost of preparing. 4 cl, 1 tbl, 1 ex
