FIELD: gluing of labels onto glass, metal, paper, cardboard and wood containers. SUBSTANCE: adhesive is useful in printing industry for gluing paper, photopaper and cardboard. In order to prepare adhesive, use is made of polyacrylonitrile with molecular weight of 30-100•10³ which is hydrolized with aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide at 90-97 C followed by modification of the resulting carboxy groups with polyfunctional compounds at polyacrylonitrile: sodium hydroxide: organochlorine compound ratio of 1.0: (0.5-1.2):(0.1-0.5).
