FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: technique and gear are intended to measure parameters of travel, law of change of speed along path of travel included. They can be specifically used to measure speed of travel of moving energized conductor. Technique and gear are based on continuous measurement of signals from two identical position pickups with bell-like transmission characteristic which are installed along path of travel, on determination of coordinate function depending on output signals of pickups and position ( coordinates ) of object and on usage in computation of speed of value of travel of object in the capacity of scaling coefficient corresponding to change of output signal of position pickup by factor of lh. Gear is equipped in addition to two pickups, two controlled keys, divider, threshold element, differentiator and control unit with logarithmic device which output is connected to input of differentiator and which input is connected to output of divider whose first and second inputs are connected to outputs of corresponding controlled keys. EFFECT: raised measurement accuracy thanks to use of linearized coordinate function, simplified design of gear. 2 cl, 2 dwg
