METHOD AND ARRANGEMENT FOR PARKING AND STORAGE OF AUTOMOBILES Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: parking and storage of automobiles. SUBSTANCE: method involves parking automobiles in individual boxes arranged in multitier parking place and hauled within this place. Automobile being parked is mounted under own power on tray drawn out of box, then driver leaves the automobile. Automobile mounting tray is drawn into box. Box is lifted together with other boxes mounted on its top through height which is the total of box height and clearance size. At same time boxes in adjacent vertical row are lifted only through clearance size, top and bottom boxes being motionless in the process. Bottom box of second row is horizontally moved to free cell of first row; bottom cell of second row is released; other cells are occupied. Lower box of incomplete vertical row is moved down together with upper boxes through height equal to lifting height. At same time boxes in adjacent vertical complete row are slightly lowered down through size of clearance except for top and bottom ones which remain motionless. Upper box of vertical row is horizontally moved to upper cell of vertical row that has been freed thereby setting free upper cell of complete vertical row. Then procedure is repeated.
