FIELD: nuclear power engineering; uranium- graphite reactors. SUBSTANCE: process channel designed to accommodate fuel elements in reactor core has connecting pipe, ball- shaped plug-valve assembled with cap, and auxiliary pipe. Cap is provided with annular conical and cylindrical bores. The latter accommodate fixed collet that functions to facilitate passage of fuel elements in channel and to block their upward escape from channel under action of coolant flow when ball-shaped plug is open. Collet is fixed in position within cap be means of lugs or by flaring. EFFECT: enhanced safety of power plant operation due to provision for collet. 3 cl, 2 dwg
