FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention provides availability of an ionic source having the possibility of generating an ion beam from gas, a target chamber including a target interacting with the ion beam in order to obtain neutrons, and an activating element located in close proximity to the target chamber and including reference material interacting with neutrons in order to obtain a medical isotope by means of a fission reaction. Location of an attenuator is characterised by close proximity to the activating element and chosen to maintain the nucleus fission reaction on a subcritical level; location of a reflector supposes its close proximity to the target chamber and chosen for reflection of neutrons in direction to the activating element, and a retarder essentially envelopes the activating element, the attenuator and the reflector.
