FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves recovering outer receptacle belts of casings by flame spraying of coating including two layers; providing volumetric casing heating to temperature of 500-600 C for one pass of inductor axially of casing from casing upper end to lower end; heating casing to temperature of 760-790 C for one pass of inductor axially of casing in reverse direction, with following continuous cooling by water spraying to temperature of 40-50 C, with distance between inductor and water sprayer being within the range of 10-20 mm; stopping heating process when inductor is spaced from upper end of casing by 15-20 mm distance and turning casing through an angle of 180 deg; resuming heating procedure and, during passage of inductor from bottom to casing top end, repeatedly heating casing part arranged in upper position after turning process and having length of 15-20 mm; providing volumetric heating of casing to 350-400 C from casing upper end to lower end by moving casing relative to inductor, with following cooling in air. Method may be used for recovery of worn cast iron cylinder casings. EFFECT: improved quality of article by increased adhesion of coating to base and provision for producing coating with improved physico-mechanical properties. 1 ex
