FIELD: machine engineering, restoration of worn inner cylindrical and splined surfaces or outer surfaces. SUBSTANCE: method of restoring spline portion and zone for mounting shaft journal of inner surface of sleeve of pinion comprises steps of heating until point Ac1, namely until 150 -100 C and cooling by means of water jets spline portion and mounting zone of sleeve at process of moving them relative to heating and cooling sources; heating inner surface of sleeve until temperature higher than point Ac1 by 30 -50 C to depth of carburized layer and cooling said surface at rate higher than critical one; mechanically working inner surface and splines by grinding to nominal size; then applying coating onto outer cylindrical surface of splined sleeve and mechanically working it to nominal size. Method provides rigidity of splined sleeve of pinion increased by 25 - 30%. EFFECT: enhanced quality of restored splines on inner cylindrical surface of sleeve due to hardening remained carburized layer, improved operational characteristics of splined sleeve of pinion. 1 dwg, 1 tbl, 1 ex
