FIELD: carbon materials. SUBSTANCE: various marks of carbon black are prepared by thermal decomposition of gaseous hydrocarbons, including natural gas. Invention is characterized by that process includes burning of fuel with air at air excess index 0.9-1.1, mixing combustion products with raw material and recycled part of gas-carbon mixture, followed by cooling reaction product, and isolation of carbon, recycled part of gas-carbon mixture being preliminarily mixed with raw material at ratio 1:(1.5-2.5) and combustion products being added to the latter mixture at volume ratio (0.3-0.5): 1. Raw material and fuel are preliminarily heated to 300-400 C and air to 550-600 C. Yield of product amounts to 62-70%.
