FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to devices taking samples of silt sediments of fluid and viscous consistency and can be used to take samples from various depths in pools and wells. Widest application this invention can find in sampling of sapropelic deposits in lakes or other bottom deposits of corresponding consistency. Sampler includes body of rectangular section with two hollow walls, two rectangular members coming in the form of pistons installed inside hollow walls and mounted for movement along walls of body. Pistons carry closing plates of elastic material rounded on ends and put into guides. Body is anchored on rope and is connected to main line supplying compressed air. Invention makes it feasible to take samples of silt mass of fluid and viscous consistency over its entire thickness with minimal distortion of layer of tested sapropel and obtain samples of sufficient authenticity.
