Abstract RU 2182661 C2

FIELD: devices for taking samples of incoherent sediments of sea bottom with their surface location and small thickness of sampled material. SUBSTANCE: sampler has a body rectangular in cross-section with supporting posts. Body frame has posts of working shaft with driving toothed wheels and supporting posts with driven toothed wheels. The frame has front and rear stops of displacement. Side restricting plates are located on the frame lower part. Working member of the sampler is made in the form of endless chain transmission with flexible net from separate longitudinal plates secured thereto. Net passes over pair driving toothed wheels of driving shaft with a motor and over driven toothed wheels. The sampler is secured to block of lowering-lifting device and has a locking mechanism. Use of the invention provides for authentic testing of horizontal and slightly inclined incoherent bottom sediments presented, particularly, by depositions of ferromanganesian and phosphorite concretions of shelf and deep-sea bottom and also placers of shelf and bottom sediments of internal water basins with provision of testing for preset thickness by uniform layer.
