FIELD: mining. SUBSTANCE: device is used for selective mining of underwater deposits and bottom sediments presented by sludges, slimes and similar substances of flow and, partially, viscous-flow consistencies with different qualitative composition in thickness of underwater deposits. The device is also used in mining of lake deposits of sapropel and sludges of other water reservoirs of water supply and fishing importance and deposits of therapeutic mud. The device has a body, pump with sludge intake hose, and hoisting member. The body is rectangular in cross-section and has bow slot occupying one half of circumference on one of walls and turntable installed on the same wall for rotation round the center common with slot. Turntable has inlet holes and slide valve for opening and closing of said hole. Slot in the body wall and inlet hole of turntable are located on the same radius form center. The body is located on telescopic support. The device has the following advantages: provided selective extraction of sapropel of different qualitative characteristics, no need of device readjustment in the course of mining of deposit presented by flow and, partially, viscous-flow consistencies, minimal disturbances of lake ecosystem, provided year-round mining, continuous process of filling of the device with sapropel and its withdrawal that allows efficient use of the device for mining of sapropel and other muddy deposits in water reservoirs of any category of water use.
