FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves performing morphological examination of biological medium, examination result analysis, and making diagnosis based on the results. The morphological examination is carried out by studying texture of the liquid crystal structure of the biological medium in dynamic mode in polarized light. Oral fluid is used as the biological medium to be studied. A preparation is prepared from the fluid by covering microscopic slide surface with the oral fluid and covering it with alcohol solution of egg lecithin. The ingredients are taken in portions equal by volume. The preparation is covered with cover glass and is held until marked typical textures are observed on the slide. The polarized optical investigation of the preparation is carried out by scanning the whole sample surface. The results of scanning are analyzed. Myelin forms, oil grooves, confocal domains and fan-shaped textures being detected in combination or concurrent combination of the same texture with one or two of them, but not the oil grooves and confocal domains, being absent, rheumatic disease affecting temporomandibular articulation is to be diagnosed. EFFECT: accelerated diagnosis method; low labor consumption.
