FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology, ecology, quantitative analysis. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing bioindicator by culturing bacterium Pseudomonas putida in solid nutrient medium no containing substance to be analyzed. Obtained biomass is washed off with phosphate buffer, pH = 7.45, in the use of the strain Pseudomonas putida S-11 and pH = 8.1 in the use of the strain Pseudomonas putida BA-11 and biomass is incubated in the same buffer. In the prepared indicator oxygen concentration is recorded by oxygen electrode at 35 C. Substance to be analyzed is added to bioindicator and oxygen concentration in the prepared mixture is recorded. The concentration of analyte is calculated by difference of oxygen consumption rates by bacteria. Invention can be used for assay of the presence and quantity of insecticide metaphos and product of hydrolysis of organophosphorus nitroaromatic insecticides of para-nitrophenol in an aqueous medium. EFFECT: broadened range of analytes to be determined, enhanced sensitivity of method. 3 cl, 8 tbl, 10 ex
